Why does my laptop have trouble with disk defragmentation process?

make sure you have at least 15% of your HDD free. and defaging can take awhile if you have a big HDD and slow CPU and RAM. my pc takes about an hour to do 80GB with 1.73GHz CPU and 2GB DDR2 RAM
