Why do we find other people's misfortunes funny?

i have a dark sense of humour, that's my brain's fault not mine, but a line is always drawn i never laugh at another persons death or getting really badly hurt, just them getting slightly hurt in a really clumsy situation, i agree though, it is a human thing.
